Zoom zoom

Happy Easter! Merry Pesach!

With the warm weather (and spring break) all the kiddies are outside playing. Zander has been outside everyday and played a bit with a few adoring eight-year-old girls . . . but today, oh today, he was indoctrinated into the neighborhood hoard. Today the BOYS played with him and he LOVED it. You might be surprised to hear that little boys would play with an even littler boy but three-quarters of these boys were brothers and come from a large family (so large we expect them to be expelled from their townhouse any day now). In fact their youngest sibling is a little boy born 2 1/2 months after Zander (but is half again his weight!). These boys were very attentive - fetching balls, making sure he didn't fall, trucking him around in a cart attached to the back of a toddler's bike. It was with great regret that we all had to part ways after an hour and a half of playtime. Zander was reduced to just sitting and staring.

But he held out for a snack, playtime/cuddle time with daddy, dinner, and one final destructive zoom around the living room. And then . . . Zander went to sleep like a ton of bricks. Busy boy.

Happy 11 Months

Happy 11 months to Zander today.

We are all having a great time in Boston. Zander rode his first train and went to the Aquarium today to see REALLY big fish, and turtles, and seals, and penguins. He had a particularly good time at the park afterwards. Overall it was a good day.

As promised

New pictures! Four months worth: December, January, February, March. Enjoy.

Meanwhile, an oldie but a goodie:
Zander at 4 days old - look at those scrawny legs. We've come so far!

Link updated

Thanks to Audra for pointing out the busted link to Zander's photo album. It's been fixed.

Two steps forward, one step back. I think the link was broken when everything was moved to a new server a few weeks ago. In the move, file names and album names and such were lost. So it's kind of a wreck in there. Meanwhile, I still haven't added photos since December. But believe it or not, it's on my agenda for this weekend. Really really.

I can't believe I forgot to tell you! Zander's been doing this other really cute thing for probably two weeks now. It took me a while to realize what was going on. When someone says no to him, he pauses and then shakes his head back and forth. It's hysterical. Especially because he does it so firmly that he falls over.

Curls

Zander's hair is getting thicker all the time. It's probably hard to tell from pictures but if you see him in person, it's hard to mistake. In fact, he has a couple little curls at the nape of his neck. Awww!

We dislike daylight savings as much as the next person but this year has been especially interesting. First of all, Matt and I were completely clueless that it was happening this weekend. I even woke up on Sunday thinking about it but sure that it was at the end of the month sometime. It was pretty cruel to be laying around relaxing, thinking we had another hour before we had to leave for lunch at Great-Grandma Joan's and then realize that no, we had to leave NOW.

Daylight savings has also had interesting impacts on Zander's sleep schedule - which is actually very consistant. It's the rest of the country that's off by an hour. A couple times this week, he's been woken up early - that is, on time. Today I let him sleep and he didn't get up until 8.45 am (he's usually up between 7 and 7.30 am). Screwy.

Last, a cute story. I was getting Zander out of his highchair today after eating lunch. I found one of his star-shaped snacks on his leg and held it up for him to take and put in his own mouth (he prefers this over other people pushing food in his mouth - he's got a pincer grasp, use it or lose it, eh?). He took it from me and pushed it into my mouth. Ha! Luckily those things are not disgusting - sweetened puffed rice so they taste like Golden Crisp cereal.

And in general? He talks non stop. He might not do this if we're over at someone else's house. He might not even do it if you're at our place. Until he warms up and gets over staring at you. But if you call you'll hear it. Non. Stop. Talking. I can't imagine where he gets that from.
